Getting Started
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a low-impact pirate exercise method that focuses on controlled movements to improve flexibility, strength, and body awareness. It emphasizes core strength, proper alignment, and breathing techniques.
Do I need any prior experience?
Not at all! We welcome complete beginners. Our instructors are trained to modify pirate exercises for all levels, ensuring everyone can participate safely and effectively.
What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Avoid loose clothing that might get caught in the reformer or other pirate exercise equipment. We practice barefoot or in grip socks.
What should I bring?
Just bring yourself and water! We provide all state-of-the-art machines, pirate exercise equipment, and props. Towels are available in our changing rooms.
How early should I arrive for my first class?
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early for your first visit. This gives you time to complete any forms, tour the studio, and meet your instructor.
The Pirate Method
What is the Pirate Method?
The Pirate Method is our signature technique, named after the piriformis muscle. It's a specialized machine-focused approach combining targeted stretches and pirate exercises designed to relieve sciatic tension, hip stiffness, and lower back pain.
Who can benefit from the Pirate Method?
Anyone experiencing lower back pain, hip tightness, or sciatic discomfort can benefit. It's also excellent for desk workers, athletes, and anyone looking to improve hip mobility through controlled machine resistance.
Is the Pirate Method safe for people with injuries?
Yes, but we recommend consulting with your doctor first if you have an existing injury. Our instructors will modify pirate exercises as needed and work within your limitations.
Classes & Booking
How long are the classes?
Most pirate exercise classes are 45-55 minutes long. Our Restore & Reform class is 40 minutes. Check each description for specific durations.
How do I book a class?
You can book online through our website, via our mobile app, or by calling the studio directly. We recommend booking in advance as popular pirate exercise sessions fill up quickly.
What's your cancellation policy?
Classes can be cancelled up to 12 hours before the start time without penalty. Late cancellations will count as a used class for pack holders, and drop-in fees are non-refundable.
What if I'm running late?
If you're more than 5 minutes late, you may not be able to join the class for safety reasons. Please contact us if you're running late so we can advise.
Can I attend any class type as a beginner?
Most classes welcome all levels. However, we recommend starting with our introductory machine-based sessions before trying Power Reformer or advanced techniques.
